Common questions

How can I get a quote done — do you come out to me?

Yes. Send an enquiry with the room and the look you're after and we'll arrange a time to come and see the space. Quoting a plaster finish properly means looking at the wall — the substrate, the size and the finish you want all change the job. We travel to customers from the Gold Coast up to the Sunshine Coast.

Can micro cement go over my existing tiles?

In most instances, yes. Micro cement is applied only 3mm thick and can cover most surfaces on walls, floors and ceilings — including over tiles in most cases. That's what removes the demolition step and takes time and cost out of a renovation. We confirm it on site, because it depends on the condition of what's already there.

What is Marmorino Venetian plaster made from?

Marmorino is made from eco-friendly lime and marble dust. It gives a wall a soft stone or concrete look and can be finished with a high, medium or low sheen. Because it's lime-based it also helps manage the indoor moisture content in a room, and it has antibacterial properties.

What's the difference between Venetian plaster and micro cement?

Marmorino Venetian plaster is a lime and marble-dust finish that reads as soft stone, and it's usually used on feature walls. Micro cement is a two-component lime-based cement applied at 3mm that mimics exposed concrete, stone and traditional Tadelakt — and unlike Venetian plaster it's suited to floors and wet areas as well as walls.

Can you match a specific look or colour?

Textured walls in Venetian plaster have endless options — bold stone, split stone, sandstone, concrete effect, bamboo, crocodile skin, even business logos rendered in plaster. We also do custom textured wall murals combining plaster with airbrush work, so you end up with a one-of-a-kind artwork. Bring us a reference and we'll talk through what's achievable.

Which areas do you cover?

We're based at Biggera Waters on the Gold Coast and travel to customers, covering the run from the Gold Coast through Brisbane up to the Sunshine Coast.

Do you work with builders and interior designers?

Yes. Alongside home owners we work with interior designers, builders and business owners, on both residential and commercial spaces.

Is it suitable for bathrooms and wet areas?

Micro cement is used on walls, floors and ceilings, including bathrooms — it's seamless, so there are no grout lines. The gallery has several finished bathrooms and shower recesses. We'll confirm the right system for your specific wet area when we look at it.
